Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services – working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.

The Family Support Specialist builds long-term, trusting relationships with families to promote positive parent–child interactions, healthy child development, and family well-being. This position provides in-home support using a strength-based and family-centered approach that aligns with the Healthy Families America (HFA) model. The Family Support Specialist partners with families to set and achieve goals, strengthen parenting skills, connect to community resources, and enhance the family’s ability to advocate for themselves and their children.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $22.26 an hour based on experience, education, and/or licensure.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and maintain consistent, long-term contact with families—providing home-based support and services for up to five years in alignment with the Healthy Families America model.
  • Conduct home visits focused on building trusting relationships, strengthening parent–child bonds, and empowering families to enhance their home environment and overall well-being.
  • Deliver family-centered and strength-based interventions that promote child development, improve parenting skills, and encourage families to become self-advocates and effective problem solvers.
  • Collaborate with families to set individualized goals, develop action plans, and assess progress related to the child’s growth and developmental milestones.
  • Identify family needs and coordinate referrals to community resources, including health care providers and other supportive services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program, agency, Healthy Family America and Department of Children and Youth requirements and timelines.
  • Participate in program evaluation activities, staff meetings, planning sessions, and cross-systems trainings to support continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Meet productivity and billing requirements established by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the goals and mission of the program

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and their families
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • An ability to establish trusting relationships
  • Acceptance of individual differences
  • Experience and humility to work with the culturally diverse families
  • Knowledge of infant and child development
  • Willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.)
  • Infant mental health endorsement preferred
  • Minimum three years of directly relevant experience
  • Demonstrates high degree of cultural awareness
  • Experience with multi-needed individuals and families
  • Broad knowledge of community service systems
  • Licensed and able to operate a motor vehicle with appropriate level of insurance coverage
  • Willing to participate in and lead cross-systems team building activities
  • Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression
  • Must be able to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment
