Training Specialist

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services – working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.

The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the training function for ISBH. They are accountable for content creation and the delivery of training for all ISBH team members, including at orientation as well as for ongoing professional development and compliance purposes.

The salary for this position is $55,106.55 to $71,675.95.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide group and/or individual instruction for new and current employees on ISBH programs, behavioral health management processes, and specialized behavioral health topics.
  • Support the Director in developing innovative modes of training delivery to maximize engagement and impact while ensuring that ISBH team member and client voices are heard when considering new training content and delivery.
  • Provide direct support for teams where there is a training element relevant to service user activity, including product, content, and service delivery.
  • Work closely with the Director in ensuring that the training program is fit for purpose and in line with best practice frameworks.
  • Support the provision of a timely response to internal training requests.
  • Support the Director in the gathering of data from a variety of sources (including qualitative feedback and observation) to assess the effectiveness of training and contributing to the development of improvement plans.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in behavioral health focused topics.
  • Design and develops appropriate and effective instructional materials and content in collaboration with learning partners.
  • Work in partnership with HR Team and ISBH Leadership to review, create, and lead programs for licensed staff.
  • Remain up to date with relevant evidence-based practice in the behavioral health domain.
  • Attend events both to represent ISBH as well as for networking opportunities and partnership building.
  • Perform additional departmental responsibilities and tasks such as learning management system administrator, training material development and maintenance, audit and completion reports and special projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, or related discipline with appropriate experience.
  • Clinical license in a related field, preferred.
  • Additional certification/specialization in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed care, and/or other related topics.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering training in a relevant field, ideally within a digital environment.
  • Experience in training content development.
  • Experience teaching adult learners.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in working in a behavioral health care setting.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in learning and development.
  • Proficient in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint); e-learning software is an asset.
  • Phenomenal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
  • Critical thinking and decision making.
